Seminyak has a significant stray dog population near beaches, streets, and around restaurant and villa areas.
Beach dogs near Seminyak Beach and Petitenget Beach are a frequently reported exposure source, particularly at dusk and night. Dogs near beach clubs and warungs can be territorial around food.
Stray dogs in Seminyak's residential alleys and side streets, especially around Jl. Kayu Aya, Jl. Laksmana, and Kerobokan area. Night walks carry higher risk.
Guard dogs at private villas and smaller guesthouses. Cat bites and scratches in villa gardens. Any animal bite or scratch in Seminyak warrants same-day medical assessment.
WHO classifies animal exposures into three categories. Doctor determines category on-site after wound examination.

Monkeys are less commonly encountered in Seminyak compared to Ubud, but are occasionally reported near Pura Petitenget temple and in some villa garden areas. If bitten or scratched by a monkey in or near Seminyak, the same rabies PEP protocol applies as for dog bites.
